Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Carnitas

Tender and flavorful, these Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Carnitas are incredibly easy to make. The combination of pork shoulder, zesty salsa verde, and aromatic spices creates a mouthwatering dish perfect for tacos, burritos, salads, or simply served over rice.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed and cut into chunks

  • 1 cup salsa verde

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

Place pork chunks, salsa verde, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker


Mix well to coat the pork evenly with the salsa verde mixture


Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork


Once cooked, use two forks to shred the pork directly in the slow cooker, mixing it with the cooking juices


Serve the carnitas hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, and your favorite toppings like diced onion, avocado, and lime wedges
